At the Startup Coffee Company – home of Apex Coffee – we’re waiting for you – specialty coffee in hand.
What do we do? We deliver delicious coffee to entrepreneurial minds – from the lonely free thinker, the hustling freelancer to the corporate behemoth – in the Brussels Area. We sell roasted coffee, machines, and provide the necessary service to guarantee a truly perfect cup at home, in the office, and in our bar in Schaerbeek, Brussels. That’s why we work with some of Belgium’s best specialty roasters, and with world-famous machine producers.
Because we’re always developing new ways to make our customers happy – and find new ones to delight, we’re looking for some fresh minds to join us. We have some great projects lined up for you to sink your teeth in!
What we are looking for
In general, you are creative and hard working, with a good dose of common sense. You like high-flying ideas as much as you relish getting your hands dirty. You have a decent grasp of the English language. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus, but the lack thereof not a deal-breaker.
Finally, you recognise yourself in one – or more – of the following descriptions.
You are the dumbledore of design. Not just any design – service design. You love to investigate what makes people tick and to build and implement processes that cater to their needs and wants. When you were a kid, you bought lifesize posters depicting words like “process”, “usability” and “agile”.
You are marketing minstrel. From strategy to implementation, from conversation management to advertising: you love the power and responsibility to get the public fired up on your product. You are creative but organised, and execution is your middle name.
You are a sales animal. You relish knocking down doors – coffee in hand – and convincing in one-on-one conversations. You couldn’t dream of anything better than spreading the gospel of amazing coffee. You genuinely love coffee & people, but you’re also organised and a true believer of the “underpromise, overdeliver” religion.

We start accepting new interns as from October 1st 2018 – the whole year through. As we really want you to get a meaningful experience to build on, we recommend you to spend at least 6 weeks in our midst.
